Don Kanabe grant funding from the state of California provided a safe, durable, concrete stairway connecting lower Lunada Bay to the upper Via Buena/Via Victoria area. Residents now have walking access to schools and our popular median trails. The stairway project was complete in 2012. LBHOA gave community input to the City on the usage of the grant funds, specifically advocating the connection of the Via Buena neighborhood with other area pathways.
LBHOA is studying ways to enrich the beautiful natural habitat of the Aqua Armaga Canyon that runs beside the Via Buena trail. On the opposite side of the canyon, trails connect to the PVP Land Conservancy habitat restoration project at Lunada Canyon. We have two lovely hikes in this area for the community to enjoy!
