Ed Fountain has been a resident of Palos Verdes Estates since 1967. Ed graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Economics from the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. Following graduation from USC, he served in the United States Air Force. After completing military service Ed went in to the California wholesale lumber business. He was President of the Southern California Lumber Association in 1984 and also served as Director of the National Wholesale Lumber Association United States and Canada.
An engaged member of the community, Ed has volunteered his time as Director, past President, and current Vice President of the PVHA Board. During this time he was active in litigation to enforce the deed restrictions of two school sites that Palos Verdes Board of Education had attempted to sell for development. This Litigation was successful,
and the lots reverted to the Association, who in turn deeded them back to the city of Palos Verdes Estates to be used as parkland. Ed and his wife Barbara have three married daughters and seven grandchildren. All three daughters were educated in the Palos Verdes schools and three grandchildren currently enrolled. Ed enjoys time with friends and family, golf, and traveling. In fact they have just completed visiting all 50 of the United States.
